Marketplace role

Energy Scout UK provides a digital marketplace for UK homeowners to use energy calculators, compare solar, battery and heat pump packages, request quotes and connect with installers. ReLeaf Energy operates the platform but does not itself install systems or provide final technical designs unless explicitly stated in writing.

Customers

Customers must provide accurate information, keep account credentials secure, use the service lawfully and review all installer documents, warranties, exclusions, cancellation rights and payment terms before entering any contract with an installer.

Calculator outputs, savings estimates and package recommendations are indicative and not financial, engineering or legal advice.

Installers

Installers are responsible for accurate company, accreditation, insurance, package, pricing, document and quote information. Installers must comply with applicable laws, consumer protection rules, advertising rules, MCS requirements, data protection obligations and any relevant scheme rules.

ReLeaf Energy may review, suspend, hide or remove installer profiles, packages or access where information appears inaccurate, unsafe, misleading, unlawful or inconsistent with Energy Scout UK standards.

Quotes and surveys

Quotes requested through Energy Scout UK are subject to installer review, property survey, eligibility checks, stock availability and final agreement. A package shown on the website is not a guaranteed offer and may change after survey.

Reviews

Reviews should be genuine, based on a real Energy Scout UK quote or installation journey and submitted by eligible customers only. ReLeaf Energy may moderate, approve, reject or remove reviews and installer replies to protect users and prevent fraud, abuse, defamation, spam or personal data exposure.

BUS Grant and funding information

Boiler Upgrade Scheme and other funding information is guidance only. Eligibility, grant values, technology criteria and scheme rules can change. Customers and installers must check current GOV.UK, Ofgem and scheme guidance. Energy Scout UK does not guarantee funding, approval or payment.

Payments

If payment functionality is introduced, any payment terms, fees, refunds, deposits or third-party payment processor terms should be shown clearly before payment. Until then, any customer-installer payment arrangements are between the customer and installer unless Energy Scout UK states otherwise.

Acceptable use and fraud

Users must not submit false information, impersonate others, scrape private data, bypass security, misuse quote requests, upload unlawful content, interfere with the platform, create fake reviews or use Energy Scout UK for fraudulent or misleading activity.

Uploads and intellectual property

Installers and users must have the right to upload any logos, documents, descriptions, package data or other content they provide. By submitting content, users allow ReLeaf Energy to use it as needed to operate, display, moderate and promote Energy Scout UK.

Suspension and termination

ReLeaf Energy may suspend or terminate access where necessary to protect customers, installers, the platform, legal compliance or service integrity. Users may stop using the service at any time, subject to any legal or record-keeping obligations.

Liability

Energy Scout UK is provided with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, ReLeaf Energy is not responsible for installer workmanship, customer-installer contracts, survey outcomes, third-party documents, funding decisions, changes in prices or losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by users or installers.

Disputes and jurisdiction

Customer-installer disputes should first be raised with the installer and any applicable consumer protection or certification body. Questions about Energy Scout UK can be sent to ReLeaf Energy. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction unless consumer law provides otherwise.
