Personal data we collect

Energy Scout UK may collect:

• Customer account data, including name, email address, login details and account activity.
• Calculator and report information, such as property type, energy use, roof or heating interests, package preferences and approximate location.
• Quote request data, including selected package, installer, quote reference, customer contact details and messages.
• Installer account data, including company name, contact name, email, phone, website, business postcode, service areas, profile details, accreditations, memberships, insurance information and uploaded documents.
• Review data, including verified review ratings, review text, lead relationship, moderation status and installer replies.
• Contact form and support messages.
• Cookie consent records, security logs and technical information such as IP-derived security identifiers, browser/user-agent data and timestamps.

How data is used

We use personal data to operate Energy Scout UK, provide calculator reports, compare packages, create and manage quote requests, administer customer and installer accounts, verify installers, moderate reviews, process package imports, provide support, maintain security, prevent fraud, record consent and improve the service.

Lawful basis

Depending on the activity, ReLeaf Energy may rely on:

• Contract necessity or pre-contract steps, for account creation, quote requests and installer onboarding.
• Legitimate interests, for platform security, fraud prevention, service improvement, installer verification and handling enquiries.
• Consent, for optional analytics, optional marketing and certain communications.
• Legal obligation, where records must be kept or information must be shared with regulators, courts or authorities.

Sharing with installers

When a customer requests a quote, relevant quote request information may be shared with the selected, assigned or locked installer so they can contact the customer, assess suitability and progress the quote. Installers must use that information only for the Energy Scout UK quote journey and their related customer relationship.

Sharing with service providers

We may share data with trusted providers who help operate the platform, including hosting, email delivery, security, backups, analytics if enabled, professional advisers and support systems. We may also share information where required by law or to protect users, the platform or legal rights.

Cookies, marketing and consent

Essential cookies support login, security, compare selections and quote journeys. Optional analytics and marketing cookies should be used only where consent has been given. Marketing communications should include a clear opt-out where applicable.

Retention

Personal data should be kept only for as long as necessary for the purpose collected, including account administration, quote records, installer verification, review integrity, legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute handling and security. Specific retention periods should be finalised before launch.

Energy Scout UK uses role-based access controls, nonce checks, validation, moderation and platform security measures to protect data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and users should keep account credentials safe.

Your UK GDPR rights

You may have rights to access your data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing, request portability and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
